Regionales Pflegezentrum Baden AG

Starting Point:

Due to the expiry of operating permits and increasing competition in the retirement and nursing home market, the new management of the Regionales Pflegezentrum Baden decided to redefine their corporate strategy. Muller Healthcare Consulting was commissioned to lead an existing project team consisting of members of the management and the management board with the aim of developing a visionary strategy for the future.

 

Methodology:

We subdivided the project into 6 methodological steps: the analysis of the company and its environment was comprised of ratio analyses, interviews with staff and external stakeholders, and a detailed analysis of demographic and socioeconomic trends that are of importance to the enterprise. Muller Healthcare Consulting depicted the future of the enterprise in creative workshops. Based on these findings, a common vision was developed. Finally, the defined strategy was subjected to a business simulation from which future income statements and investment volumes were derived.

Result:

The new strategy consisted of further specialising and centralising the range of nursing services, building 80 retirement flats and developing a mixed-generation area, which was unanimously adopted by the Board of Directors. This new strategy allowed the nursing home to sustain a competitive position. Following the success of this project phase, Muller Healthcare Consulting consultants were employed as project managers for the strategy adaptation at the Regionaler Pflegeheim Baden.
